Seachtain Na Gaeilge

We really tried our best this Seachtain na Gaeilge. We spoke Irish as much as we could during the week. We listened to some brilliant traditional Irish musicians in the hall. We took part in a seanfhocail competition, which Maya's beautiful picture won first place in the class. Teacher awarded Michaela with Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine, for her amazing efforts all week long. We finished the week with a ceolchoirm in the hall, where we sang 'Ceann, gualainn, glúin is cos' and said the rhyme 'Lámha suas', and then had a céilí mór.

Aistear in March

We explored the theme of construction in Aistear this month. We designed buildings, built buildings, played jenga, pretended we were builders and made lollypop stick homes.

World Book Day

We celebrated World Book Day by coming to school dressed as our favourite character from a book. We took part to a school wide 'drop everything and read' and we made cool book marks. Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes, and a big well done to Lacey, who one first place in our class, dressed as little red riding hood. The lucky duck got a night off homework and got her picture in the newspaper.

Pancake Tuesday

We had some delicious pancake to celebrate shrove Tuesday. We learned all about Pancake Tuesday traditions, and loved hearing about the pancake flipping races.
